Paul Purvis is a former Florida Baptist Convention president and has been a lead pastor for nearly 26 years, serving the greater Tampa area at Mission Hill Church since 2010. The priority of prayer has been evident throughout Paul’s ministry at Mission Hill. In addition to daily staff prayer and a weekly all-church prayer gathering, Mission Hill has created a Prayer Pastor position and hosts an annual 40 Days of Prayer: 40 Day of Prayer and Fasting leading up to Easter. Last year, he initiated a yearly weekend prayer retreat. This profound commitment to prayer has multiplied the ministry of Mission Hill Church, and through this, God has shown His faithfulness over and over again.
